‘Chaos’ in city center as police hunt suspects wanted for ‘very serious crime’

Police have admitted causing “chaos” in a Warwickshire town as they hunted down wanted suspects. In fact, members of Warwickshire Police’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) said: “We make no apologies for the chaos we have caused in Warwick town centre.”

It comes as they clocked a car with two suspects they said were wanted for a “very serious offence”. They “jumped” on the car yesterday afternoon – but it caused a stir in the city centre.

However, this led to the arrest of two men, who have not been identified. Explaining the action, the OPU team posted on their Facebook page: “We make no apologies for the chaos we caused in Warwick town center this afternoon. A vehicle was seen containing two suspects for a very serious crime and we swooped in when they least expected it. This one.

“Two men have been arrested and are now enjoying Leamington Custody’s best en-suite rooms.”
