Steve Cooper details talks about Khun Top and Jon Rudkin while providing insight into the team behind the scenes

Steve Cooper says Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha’s passion for Leicester City shone through in talks to become the new Foxes manager.

And he insists he is determined to deliver more success for the club’s owner, who has already enjoyed the “real highs” of seeing City win the Premier League, FA Cup and Championship titles. Cooper will lead the Foxes back into the Premier League after signing a three-year deal to succeed Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium.

And in an interview with the club, he said: “I’ve had really good conversations with the chairman and Jon (director of football Jon Rudkin) over the last few weeks and it’s a vibe and a relationship that I really have. I’ve enjoyed being there so far and I know it’s something very important on the training ground and we have to make sure it goes on the pitch and then on to the stadium. If we do that, we give ourselves more than a chance.

“The training ground is incredible, the stadium is beautiful. It’s nice to drive around town with a different mindset and that’s very important to me. There was an incredible commitment from so many people, none more so than the property, and I felt that when I spoke with the president on several occasions.

“To see the passion for the club, you can see how it really works. It had some really good rewards and some real highs. It’s a real commitment from me and some of the others who will be joining me and the guys who are already here to try and keep progressing.

“It was a progression last year after coming into the league, let’s try to keep building and I’d like to have more success in time.”
