‘Now it’s leaked’: Archie Gray’s exit position appears alongside insulting Leeds United ‘assessment’ – Report

Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray has been linked with an unsurprising move this summer after failing to secure promotion, including a potential move to Borussia Dortmund.

Leeds’ 23/24 season saw a number of successes from a player point of view, perhaps the most impressive of the lot was teenager Archie Gray, making his senior debut in August and becoming a mainstay.

However, the problem Leeds have with Gray’s stunning discovery is that the Eagles are set to try and prize him away from Elland Road after the mess at Wembley about a month ago.

Archie Gray’s position on Borussia Dortmund move revealed

Bild have frequently reported claims that Gray is on the radar of Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Bundesliga giants have been a fruitful destination for young English players in the past, with Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens all benefiting from Great Britain’s trip to the Westfalenstadion.

What the above report now shows is that Gray is said to be keen to take the next step in his career by moving to Dortmund this summer:

“It has now been leaked from his background that he is definitely toying with a switch to the Pott club to take the next step in his career. After all, he could immediately prove his abilities in the premier class with black and yellow.”

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

The puzzling low rating Gray appears as Dortmund circle

Dortmund could prove too tempting a prospect for Gray to turn down, but one thing the German club have to contend with is Leeds’ surely high regard for one of the best talents to come out of the club in years .

However, the report claims that Leeds’ rating is bizarrely low:

“However, there are mixed reports about the transfer fee for the highly gifted. There is talk of between £20m and around €35m (£29.64m).

Gray has signed a long-term deal until 2028 at Leeds and with no release clause present and Leeds having Red Bull funding to significantly strengthen their summer transfer position, a fee is expected to be needed much bigger.

Gray won’t leave for less than £30m, it’s just bogus, but Dortmund are a concern

Given his path to becoming a first-team regular at Dortmund, there are far worse clubs for Gray to go to if he decides to leave this summer.

The problem with this deal though is that it is suggested to cost less than £30m, which anyone with any sense of Leeds’ financial situation this summer can pick up straight away.

We’re not in a position where we have to sell Gray to the highest bidder, so if someone wants to sign him, they’re going to have to pay a huge amount.

Unfortunately for Dortmund, that probably means adding another £15-20m on top of what this report claims.
