Jay Slater’s mother expresses fear of ‘bringing son home in a body bag’ amid Tenerife search

Jay Slater’s mother has expressed her deep concern, saying she prays she doesn’t “take her son home in a body bag” as she slams those spreading unfounded conspiracy theories. Her comments come as the search continues for the 19-year-old Briton, who went missing after leaving a nightclub in Tenerife.

“I’m really saddened by all your comments. You seem so upset about this GoFundMe page. I really hope I don’t take my son home in a body bag,” remarked Debbie. “Funds are not released, nor will they be if they are not needed. I really can’t believe the British public aren’t supporting me in trying to find Jay.”

“This could happen to any of you one day. Very disappointed in you all.”

she added. In a later update to her post, she clarified: “I’m sorry you took this the wrong way. I am overwhelmed by the generosity. What I meant was VERBAL support”.

“I really hope I don’t need this money. If it’s not needed, it will all be refunded to the people who really cared,” reports Birmingham Live.

A crowdfunding effort on GoFundMe to support Jay’s family quickly reached its £30,000 target in just three days.

Jay was last seen shirtless partying at Papagayo nightclub, located at the end of the famous Veronica’s Strip in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife. An image of missing teenager Jay caught him at the club in the early hours with his girlfriend Lucy Law shortly before he disappeared in Tenerife.
