Wiltshire man convicted of trying to arrange sex with child

A Wiltshire man has been convicted of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a child.

Kurt Anderssen, 58, of Amesbury, was found guilty of three counts of arranging/facilitating the commission of a child sex offense, encouraging/inciting the distribution of indecent images of a child and two counts of creating a indecent images of a child.

He received a custodial sentence of six years and eight months at Winchester Crown Court.

Anderssen had a conversation on social media in which he discussed paying to meet the seven-year-old daughter of the person he was communicating with for sexual activity.

A date was arranged for the meeting, but it was canceled by Anderssen, who said he was unsure if the arrangement was genuine.

He was arrested on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at his home address, where officers seized several electronic devices and found evidence of child sexual abuse material search terms and downloaded files of child abuse titles.
