Jay Slater’s father says ‘someone knows something’ after CCTV emerges

Jay Slater’s father has pleaded “someone has to know something” a week after his son’s disappearance. Jay’s father – who is frantic with worry and has flown to Spain to look for the missing 19-year-old – has asked police to expand the search.

Warren, 55, told The Sun: “I just want him to be found. I want my son back, all the way. What’s more, it’s been a week now, a week without anything. So someone somewhere must have found out. Someone. It’s a living hell, if you don’t go through it, you can’t explain it.

“Please, please, please, if anyone knows anything, come and help us.” Warren added: “I don’t know if anything untoward happened to Jay. One minute it was here, the next minute it was gone.

“I don’t think he’s on that mountain yet. The police made every effort to find him. It is bleak and barren. The authorities have done everything they can in the search, everyone is up there looking for him.” It comes amid hopes that a grainy CCTV image could be Jay.

A source close to the family told the Mail: “It looks like him and is definitely the shape of a man, but we just don’t know. It was taken near the church where a witness says he saw it, so we have to keep hoping.” . Mum Debbie said: “Someone came in to say they saw someone they thought was Jay walking back down the road, sitting on a bench.

“He was with two men who were looking a little worse for wear and they were near a church, this guy came forward and told the police about it and they are looking into it. We don’t know for sure if it was Jay, but it’s a start. They said it was around 6pm, which is 10 hours after he was seen by the lady in the village. But if it was him what was he doing there and who are these two men? She added: “Everyone loves being around him and he was laughing with these guys.

“He wouldn’t have seen the danger, he didn’t have his wits about him, he just wanted to go and have fun. It’s just traumatic and it doesn’t feel real. It’s just awful, it’s awful. He’s just a great person that everyone the world would have wanted him to be. He’s good-looking, he’s a popular boy.”
