M&S is closing its doors after a power cut hit the retail park

A Marks and Spencer store has temporarily closed its doors after a power cut hit a retail park.

The M&S store at The Croft Retail and Leisure Park in Bromborough, Wirral, closed temporarily on Monday 24 June following a power cut. A spokesman for Scottish Power said the power cut occurred at 3.15pm and the power company had received “no prior warning”.




Affected areas around Bromborough Retail Park include Commercial Road, Welton Road, Carrock Road, Georgia Avenue and Shore Wood Road. Scottish Power engineers are currently on site and hope to restore power by 5.15pm today, June 24.

On its website, Scottish Power said: “There is a power outage affecting the CH62 postcode area of ​​Bromborough. We were given no advance warning of this and first found out at 3.15pm.

“Our engineers have arrived on site to find and repair the fault as quickly and safely as possible. We expect power to be restored by 5.15pm.”
