Prem clubs have warned against using financial loopholes

Prem bosses have warned club bosses they must not use loopholes in the regulation to avoid PSR sanctions.

Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle have all been involved in a number of possible deals which could be completed by the end of the season on Sunday.

Villa have already signed Everton youngster Lewis Dobbin and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam moved the other way in a similar £9m deal.

Unai Emery’s side are also ready to sell youth player Omari Kellyman to Chelsea for up to £19m, while they will take left-back Ian Maatsen from Stamford Bridge for 37.5 million pounds.

Other possible deals could see Newcastle sign England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton to Newcastle, while taking Toon winger Yankuba Minteh.

The transfers could allow all four clubs to benefit from the accounting rules surrounding the PSR, with clubs limited to £105m of ‘allowable losses’ over three seasons.

Up to eight clubs are believed to be at risk of breaching the PSR for this season, with the prospect of points deductions now a real possibility following the sanctions imposed on Everton and Nottingham Forest in the past year.

Gyokeres in shock Gunners link

Claims that Viktor Gyokeres could be heading to the Premier League this summer have taken a surprise turn.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have already been linked with Sporting Lisbon’s Swedish striker.

Now Portuguese outlet Leonino have sparked speculation claiming the Gunners are “very close” to signing the 26-year-old former Coventry star.

That suggestion will raise eyebrows back in the UK – especially as Sporting are believed to be standing firm on their valuation of around £85m.

Arsenal may not be interested for much more than £50m.

Mason would love to give Geta a second chance in Spain

Getafe president Angel Torres has said Manchester United frontman Mason Greenwood is open to a return to the LaLiga club.

Greenwood spent last season on loan at the Estadio Coliseum following his legal problems.

Torres believes the striker would be keen on a new loan spell with the LaLiga club.

However, the businessman insists United will have to make the final decision.
