Firefighters from Nuneaton and Coleshill were called to tackle the large blaze on the M6.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Nuneaton, Coleshill and Water Bowser from Coleshill are attending a lorry fire on the M6.”

Motorists have been urged to avoid the M6.

Smoke can be seen in the air as the large fire, involving an HGV, takes hold this afternoon (June 24).

In a post on X, National Highways said “delays are increasing rapidly in both directions”.
