“Sorry about Rishi Sunak and the lack of Sky TV – but I still won’t be voting for him” | Bristol Live

The North Somerset constituency has been a Tory stronghold for nearly 100 years. And Dr Liam Fox has been MP for the constituency – formerly known as Woodspring – since 1992.

In the 2019 general election, Dr Fox won the North Somerset seat with a majority of 17,536 votes. But will he be able to keep his seat this time when the nation goes to the polls in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, Alexander Kokkinoftas (UK Reform) is predicted to get 10%, Ash Cartman (Liberal Democrats) 8% and Oscar Livesey Lodwick (Green Party) 6% of the vote. We headed to Nailsea to speak to residents to gauge whether residents thought the Tories still had a chance of winning the 4th of July general election.

And whether they would be more likely to vote Conservative if former Prime Minister Boris Johnson was still in charge, rather than Rishi Sunak. Most residents I spoke to thought the Conservatives were unlikely to win the general election, although many still seemed to support the party.

One resident noted that he felt “the majority won’t be as big as people think it will be”, while another pointed out that “a lot of us just want a change”, and one resident even asked if the conservative party wanted to win this. choice.

When asked who they preferred as party leader Boris Johnson or Rishi Sunak? One described Boris Johnson as a “lying child of privilege (who seemed to think) the rules that applied to everyone else didn’t apply to him”.
