Men’s Hoops signs Maryland high school product Ben Bradford to round out 2024-25 roster

CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte 49ers and head men’s basketball coach Aaron Fearne have completed their roster for the 2024-25 season with the arrival of Maryland high school product Benjamin Bradford.

Bradford signed with Charlotte on Monday, June 17, where he will have four years of eligibility.

“We are delighted to announce his addition Ben Bradford to our roster for next season,” said Coach Fearne. “Our staff was drawn to Ben’s positional size and skill level, as well as his overall demeanor and character.”

Bradford attended Gaithersburg High School in Maryland before spending a post-graduate year at The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut in 2024. At Loomis Chaffee, the 6’5″, 180-pound guard was an All-NEPSAC and Founders League selection .Player of the year.

“Ben comes to Charlotte after spending a post-collegiate season in one of the most competitive leagues in the country and playing for a respected coach in Rock Battistoni,” Fearne added. “He has shown the ability to improve quickly and we believe his best basketball is ahead of him.”

While at Gaithersburg, Bradford was a first-team all-state selection and a first-team All-Met selection by the Washington Post while averaging 27 points per game as a senior.

Bradford is the seventh rookie to join the 49ers for this upcoming season, and his signing completes the 2024-25 roster. Bradford is the only first-year player on the team.

The 49ers went 19-12 overall in 2023-24 under Fearne, who was elevated from interim to permanent head coach during the season. In their first season in the American Athletic Conference, the Niners finished third, Charlotte’s best league finish since 2006.
