Birmingham have turned down a desire to play Wrexham in the US

Birmingham City have floated the idea of ​​playing their League One match against Wrexham in the United States next season with the EFL.

Both clubs have American owners and Birmingham have floated him as a potential plan. However, no formal request was made, with Birmingham considering that their suggestion would be refused if made official.

If the proposal had been approved, it would have been the first competitive English-language match to be played outside England or Wales.

Birmingham were relegated to the third tier last season after finishing 22nd in the Sky Bet Championship, while Wrexham were promoted after finishing second behind Stockport County in League Two.
