Everton transfer chief acknowledges Jack Harrison after re-signing Leeds United striker

Signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison was one of Everton’s top summer priorities, according to director of football Kevin Thelwell. Harrison enjoyed a successful loan spell with Sean Dyche’s side last season, claiming four goals in 35 appearances to help the club to mid-table.

His return to Goodison Park was confirmed last night. The 27-year-old joined the Toffees on loan ahead of the 2024/25 season, becoming their second signing of the summer following the capture of midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.

Thelwell told the club’s website: “Bringing Jack back to Everton was one of our priorities this summer, so it’s a boost to have been able to complete his season-long loan at the start of the transfer window.

“You saw last season the qualities he brings to our team and the role he played in the progress we made under Sean and his coaching staff.

“Jack was eager to return to Everton, which speaks volumes for how much he enjoys being part of this club and we look forward to him helping us progress next season.”

Everton boss Dyche also expressed his delight after securing Harrison’s services for another year. “We are delighted to have Jack back on our team and look forward to working with him again,” said Dyche.

“He made an important contribution to the progress we made last term, both in terms of our attacking power and the defensive steel throughout the team, while his work ethic and willingness to puts in the yards match what we expect from our players.”
