Huge 999 response at Coventry school as teenagers hospitalized with ‘vaping concern’

Emergency services gathered around a Coventry school as its science block was ‘sealed off’. Several fire engines, police cars and ambulances were seen at Foxford School earlier (June 25).

Reports on social media said students saw emergency services “everywhere” and the science block was “banned”. Two students, a boy and a girl, were transported to the hospital.




A message sent from the school to parents and carers, seen by CoventryLive, explained that police were called following the use of “unknown” vapes.

The school’s full message explained: “Due to some students bringing in vapes and the source is unknown, police have come to test these vapes.

“As you know, vaping is not allowed in the school and student safety is paramount.”

In a statement, West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it received two 999 calls to the school in Grange Road. “We received two separate calls to Foxford School and Community Arts College on Grange Road at 11.47am and 12.25pm, two ambulances attended the scene.
