Involved in numerous projects that focused on addressing community-level issues and social policy, SDC saw a healthy turnout from community advocates and board directors at the St. Andrews West Fire Hall.

Executive Director Carilyne Hebert took everyone through SDC’s areas of engagement during the year, giving a mental picture of the vast network of programs and events that SDC oversees, as well as some of the local leaders who are involved.

Looking at the most important, Hébert discussed about The Cornwall and Area Employment Network, which offered workshops with employer resources and launched the Mind Matters series, facilitated by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), which discusses mental health in the workplace. Speaking of employment, a record 1,700 people attended the April job fair hosted by SDC, which will be discussed further at the next AGM.
