Work to deliver £225,000 refurbishment to one of Nuneaton’s oldest parks to ‘start soon’

Work to deliver a £225,000 revamp to one of Nuneaton’s oldest parks is to “start soon”. That’s according to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council as it prepares to give Sorrell Road Park a huge makeover.

A concept masterplan was previously unveiled for the park, which has not been upgraded since 2006, but now City Hall says it wants residents’ views before work begins. As part of this, an online and in-person consultation is to take place.

“There will soon be a huge makeover to the park, which was last renovated in 2006.” said a spokesman for the City Hall.

“We’re looking to get the best value for money and improve the facilities on offer and we’d like to hear your views via our online survey.”

The work will be part paid for by around £100,000 from Hill Top and Caldwell Big Local (HTC). The remainder, £125,000, will come from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) of £4,028,173 awarded to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

How to say your word

The online survey was launched today (June 25). It will run until Tuesday, July 9. The board said it does not capture uniquely identifiable data about participants.
