Bradford County Commissioners: Overnight camping no longer allowed at Mt. Pisgah County Park

Bradford County Commissioners have announced that, effective immediately, Mt. Pisgah County will no longer allow overnight camping due to numerous recent acts of vandalism and other violations of park rules and regulations.

According to a press release, the decision was made after concerns expressed by the park administrator, local residents and law enforcement. In order to preserve public park resources for county residents and to avoid any further damage, Bradford County Commissioners made the difficult decision to close county park Mt. Pisgah for any overnight camping, effective 9:00pm on June 20th and continuing through the remainder of the 2024 season.

Park Mt. Pisgah County will now be open only from dawn to dusk, allowing visitors to enjoy daytime activities such as hiking and picnicking. The park’s scenic trails and picnic areas will remain accessible to the public.

“We understand that this change may cause inconvenience to some users, but we must prioritize the safety and well-being of our park customers. We are committed to providing a positive experience for all visitors while ensuring the protection of our natural resources and facilities,” the commissioners said in the news release.
