The Big Season 3 – Channel 4 confirms start date

Channel 4 has set a date for The great season 3 – returns on Monday, July 8 after dropping in the US on Hulu in May.

The show is an alternate history satire based on the life of Catherine the Great of Russia. Elle Fanning stars as Catherine, with Nicholas Hoult as her husband, Emperor Peter III.

Here is the synopsis for The great season 3:

Season 3 sees Catherine and Peter trying to make their marriage work after some seemingly insurmountable problems. Peter witnessed his own assassination attempt at the hands of Catherine, and she also imprisoned all of his friends. On top of that, Peter finds himself at a loose end playing First Husband during Catherine’s reign, so he’s busy with parenting, hunting and savory culinary adventures. But they aren’t enough to keep him content as visions of his late father (Jason Isaacs) enter his head about his failures as Peter the Great’s son.

The Great Season 3

Catherine the Great begins to make a name for herself beyond her borders and, inspired by a visit from the US ambassador, organizes a conference where peasants, nobles, and merchants can all contribute to the development of a new Russia. She learns that even the best political leaders sometimes have to compromise in order to make progress.
