East Midlands Railway (EMR) has launched a new type of ticket allowing Sheffield customers to visit Liverpool for just £4.

Its new Secret Fare, which was launched in partnership with Seatfrog, offers a unique opportunity for those who are flexible with their travel times to secure the best possible fare.

It means customers in Sheffield can travel to enjoy all the culture and glamor of the famous Merseyside city for less than the cost of a pint.

How does it work?

• Customers can book their Secret Fare ticket from the moment the services open for booking – usually around three months in advance and up to 2 days before travel.
• Customers can use the Seatfrog app or go to the Secret Fare website: https://secretfare.seatfrog.com/
• They enter their chosen trip and the date of the trip.
• Choose a time window (morning, afternoon or evening).
• Seatfrog will email them the discounted ticket with the reserved time 24 hours before departure so they know when they will be traveling in good time.
