England goalkeeper Earps to leave Manchester United

Mary Earps is set to leave Manchester United when her contract expires to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The England international is out of contract this summer and rejected the opportunity of a new deal at Manchester United.

The Red Devils were keen to agree terms on an extension for the 31-year-old but Earps rejected a significant offer from the club.

Earps is expected to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, who have been heavily linked with the shot, who has won the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award in each of the past two seasons.

The Lionesses No.1 is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2023 after helping England to the Women’s World Cup final.

Arsenal had previously been linked with Earps, who also signed Alessia Russo from Manchester United on a free transfer last summer, but are now focusing on a deal for Aston Villa’s Daphne van Domselaar.

PSG finished runners-up in Women’s Division 1 in 2023-24, behind reigning champions Lyon. The Parisians are the only team to have broken Lyon’s league dominance since 2007, with the latter winning all but one title since 2006-07.
