Everton boss Dyche surprised Sheffield Utd captain Robinson avoided red

Everton boss Sean Dyche was surprised Sheffield United captain Jack Robinson avoided the sack during yesterday’s win.

Robinson collided with Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and pushed him to the ground. The defender was cautioned for the incident.

Dyche said: “The performance of the officials was interesting today, I thought.

“I don’t know what the rules suggest, but when the play is going on and their player does that (push Calvert-Lewin in the chest) I would suggest it’s unusual. They said it wasn’t a push in the face. so it is acceptable.

“I don’t think we’d like to think it’s acceptable in football in general. But that’s the way it is in the modern game anyway and I’m learning about it and the officials every week.”
