The magical forest has been transformed into a family paradise just an hour from Birmingham

There is a beautiful forest – just an hour from Birmingham – that turns into a paradise for families of all ages. Just So Festival transforms the picturesque grounds of Rode Hall Estate near Stoke on Trent into a haven for music, costume, color and adventure every summer.

Kids can explore all the glades through a hand-drawn map with mythical places like Marauder’s Cove, Shangri-La and Spellbound Forest. Organizers also promise a “stunning” high-wire spectacular and giant puppets that bring to life gods and demons from South Asian stories.

For those looking for a little mischief, there will even be a family bleach fight! And if relaxation is more up your street, there’s a forest spa where parents can indulge in a sauna session followed by a refreshing ice dip. Read our Just So review here

Taking place during the summer holidays, the festival will take place between 16 and 18 August. New for 2024 is an area called ‘The Mind Palace’ where families will find giant puzzles, mind-bending workshops and engineering challenges.

There will also be music, performance and comedy in the Woodland Theatre, field dancing, street food vendors, midnight celebrations, arts and crafts workshops and Footlights main stage performances from Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet, Kasai Masai, Bonfire Radicals, Dana. Gavanski, ICHI and Cut a Shine.

“We’re delighted to unveil our incredible line-up for Just So Festival 2024,” said Festival Director Rowan Cannon. “From world-class music to thrilling forest adventures, we’re giving families the chance to break out of their everyday routines and enjoy an unforgettable weekend of mischief, mayhem and anarchic play!”
