Hull FC’s Cam Scott has pulled out of social media comments following his move to Wakefield Trinity

Hull FC player Cam Scott has hit out at the comments on social media after confirming his move to Wakefield Trinity. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the West Yorkshire club from the 2025 season, which has the option of a third year.

Scott was first linked with Wakefield in March, with the ambitious club eyeing the rising Hull FC talent, who signed for the Black and Whites as an academy player in 2017.

The centre, who has also doubled up as a back-rower for the past two seasons, saw his future officially announced on Tuesday and has received plenty of ‘backlash’ on social media since then, with users speculating about the player’s salary being offered. at Wakefield. Scott has now hit back at the comments, saying such things are not “known” and that any speculation about the figures quoted is “wild”.

Posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Scott said: “I’ve never been one to do this, but after yesterday’s news, I’ve had quite a bit of backstabbing and a lot of unfair comments.

“What I’m paid is not known, and for people to then jump on rumors of ‘what they’ve heard’ and then run to every social network to post their opinion of me as a person and a player is just baffling.

“Everyone has the right to their opinion. However, if there is no truth to it and they just latched onto whatever they “heard” and ran with it, then it’s just ridiculous and says more about them than it does me.

“Some of the numbers I’ve seen and what people have thought from other people’s posts are wild and if you’re going to run with what someone told you on Facebook or Twitter, then that really says more about those individuals than about me.”
