Dad killed in Swindon crash had ‘huge heart’

The family of a man who died after being hit by a vehicle last week say he had a “huge heart”.

Jonathan Neilan, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at the junction of Upham Road and Southview Avenue in Swindon on June 17.

His family said he enjoyed cars, cycling and boating and was a volunteer with the Sea Cadets for many years.

Wiltshire Police said the driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been bailed while inquiries continue.
