Amazon’s ‘fantastic’ bladeless fan ‘perfect for night time’ which is £130 cheaper than Dyson

As the UK enjoys its first summer heat wave, Amazon shoppers have been snapping up a bladeless cooling fan for £80 off in a new deal. The SmartAir Bladeless Cool and Purify Oscillating Tower Fan is on offer for £169.99, a huge discount on its usual price of £249.99.

That makes it £130 cheaper than Dyson’s Pure Cool Purification Fan, which is reduced to £299.99 at Currys. The SmartAir fan is said to be “just as well made” as the popular brand and offers a wide range of oscillations to cool an entire room or can be focused on a single target area.

In addition to cooling, the gadget acts as an air purifier with double filtration and a HEPA filter that can remove “more than 99 percent” of particles from the air. The versatile device has 12 fan speeds, so you can have full control, from a low, slow breeze to a powerful cooling air.

It also features four wind modes, with users able to choose from Day Wind, Sleep Wind, Baby Wind and SmartWind, depending on the time of day and where the fan is being used. In addition, its settings can be adjusted without having to get up thanks to the remote control, as well as the adjustable auto-off timer.

The fan is ideal for nighttime use as it operates at a quiet 36 decibels so you can keep cool undisturbed while you sleep. The SmartAir Bladeless Fan has earned a 4.2-star rating from 74 Amazon reviews — more than two-thirds of which are five stars — with buyers hailing the fan as “super quiet” and “worth every penny.”

Buyers say the SmartAir’s range of fan settings make it ‘great’ when working at home and at night

One happy buyer said: “Fantastic fan! I did a bit of research before purchasing and this fan did not disappoint. I’m a light sleeper and can’t sleep with the noise of standard fans on hot nights, but I finally can with this fan. It keeps my bedroom cool and super quiet. It’s also great in a larger room in a tall setting. I was apprehensive at first because of the cost, but it was worth every penny.”

Another said: “More features than a Dyson and just as well made. This fan is really great value for money. I was looking for a second tall fan but didn’t want to buy another Dyson and this one does not disappoint! A wide range of functions including variable oscillation, different fan settings and even an ionizer. The fan has a timer function, but only in hourly increments. The fan itself is pretty heavy, especially compared to my Dyson. All in all, while the Dyson is more powerful, the varied functionality of this fan at this price makes it a real contender.”

A third added: “Super fan who really does his job. I bought it because of the previous great reviews and it really lives up to them. Super easy to use and feels like it actually cools the air. It’s quiet, sturdy and a great buy.”

“This fan was brilliant on hot summer days. The speed settings and four different oscillation options were great for home office work and at night. The remote control is great as you can adjust from bed mode to night mode and also add a timer to turn off the fan. It won’t cool the room if that’s what you’re expecting, as it’s not an air conditioner, but it will definitely help cool you down like an exceptional fan. Best buy this year, no need to spend hundreds when this one does the job brilliantly,” said a fourth.

However, some customers were frustrated by the lack of replacement filters saying, “Why sell them when you can’t even buy replacement filters, you can’t use mine anymore because it smells.”

To clean the filter, the High Street TV seller advises customers to remove the HEPA filters and use a brush attached to a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, cleaning both sides of the filter to ensure all dust is removed.

The SmartAir Bladeless Cool and Purify Oscillating Tower Fan is available from Amazon (£169.99) and B&Q (£169.99).

Alternatively, Shark has knocked £50 off the FlexBreeze Portable Fan to £149.99. The 12-in-1 device is perfect for indoor or outdoor use and can run for up to 24 hours, while the included misting attachment can be used to provide a cooling mist.
