M6 lorry crash live as drivers stuck in miles of queues

A crash between a lorry and a car has led to lane closures on the M6 near Coventry. There are two lane closures on the M6 northbound between Junction 3 and Junction 3A with the M42.

National Highways says it follows a collision between a lorry and a car. As a result of the lane closures, there are currently seven miles of congestion.

There are also 60 minute delays and this is set to get longer as peak times.

Long delays – Inrix

Long delays and two lane closures due to an accident involving a lorry and two cars on the M6 Northbound after Corley Services. Congestion at J2 (Coventry). The A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass is also congested as traffic looks for an alternative.

Traffic is also congested on the opposite side due to onlookers. Corley Services is between J3 and J4

The latest Google traffic map shows congestion along the M6.

The two northbound lanes closed are causing queues at junction 3 island.

It also crawls back to junction 2.

An update from National Highways West Midlands said the ambulance and fire service were at the scene.

The collision follows shortly before 3.40pm.

According to live traffic website Inrix, as a result of the closure of the northbound lanes, traffic is also congested on the opposite side due to onlookers.

The A46 Coventry Eastern bypass is also congested as traffic seeks an alternative route.
