The dangerous driver climbed out the window to escape, but was stunned by what happened next

Police helicopter footage captured the moment a dangerous driver in Coventry had no choice but to give up. Liviu Radu, of Barston Close, had led police on a high-speed chase through parts of Bedworth and into Binley Woods, jumping red lights along the way.

The 29-year-old then crashed his car but still managed to flee from police. However, the National Police Air Service (NPAS) was called into action and the police helicopter tracked him to an address off Quorn Way.

From the sky, Radu was surprised by the police helicopter camera looking through a curtain on the ground floor. He is then seen climbing through a first-floor window and frantically descending a drainpipe.

He then hides behind a bin before running after him – only to be chased by a police dog. As he flees, the police dog is hot on his tail and he eventually falls to the floor before jumping up and immediately removing his wrists to indicate that he is surrendering for arrest.
