Online fundraiser for Kirklees Charity, Denby Dale Centre

by Joshua Robinson –

The Denby Dale Centre is an independent local charity in Kirklees operating community transport, social work and dementia groups, however due to financial difficulties they have opened a GoFundMe Fundraiser.

Recently, the charity recently fell into a financial crisis due to:

  • Bus 1’s electric door failure cost the charity an unexpected £2,500.
  • Bus 2 engine failure following misfuelling accident costing charity £8000.
  • The charity shop was caught in the June 18 Denby Dale flood, which cost the charity £1000 in losses and lost revenue.

The charity works hard to provide 3,000 acts of connection, which helps HD8 have the lowest loneliness figures in Kirklees. The Denby Dale Center has also worked tirelessly through Covid, helping to support Ukrainians displaced by war and setting up welfare for families in HD8 who need support.

This charity works hard on a minimal income and needs help with fundraising donations to overcome these financial pressures in an already difficult economic time.
