ENFIELD — The 2024 Enfield Town Celebration will be held July 5-7 on the Enfield Town Green, 820 Enfield St.

Friday, July 5, events take place between 5-10 p.m.; Saturday 6th July from 9am to 10pm and Sunday 7th July from 10am to 10pm

The Enfield Fourth of July Committee is a nonprofit committee of 26 volunteer directors with the sole mission of planning a three-day family event in Enfield that is free.

Marketing Director Izzy Post Ruhland for the Enfield Fourth of July Celebration said: “We strive every year to fundraise, work through sponsorships and plan this three-day event so that everyone can participate, regardless of their ability to pay. “.

There will be multiple concerts throughout the weekend, a children’s activity area, Teen Zone, beer garden, car show, K-9 demonstrations from the Enfield Police Department, basketball tournament and, for the first time, a live fights with professional fighters in the ring.

Additionally, the celebration will feature the Craft Fair, Independence Day Parade, Road Race and Fireworks Display by Zambelli Fireworks International.

“Our goal as a team is to create an event that brings the community together and makes people happy,” Ruhland said. “That’s what we really want to do. It’s our mission to make sure everyone can enjoy it. We work hard to create that community event and it has grown over the 39 years we have been an established committee.”

Although this is the 39th year for the committee, the celebration itself has lasted longer. It started as a picnic in Brainard Park with five families and has grown ever since.

In the early 1980s, he moved to Enfield Town Green. It became so big that a committee was formed to formally plan it.

Ruhland has been around this event all his life. Her grandfather was a committee member in the 90s. Then her parents were involved since the year she was born.

This is Ruhland’s ninth year as a director, and this is her way of carrying it forward. “We’ve seen tens of thousands of people come every weekend and it all culminates with that fireworks spectacular on Sunday night,” Ruhland said. “There’s nothing like it for us as a team and we love seeing the community come together and have something to look forward to every July.”

For those wishing to attend for the first time, parking around the Town Green can be difficult with the side streets, so the committee has a free bus from Enfield Square Mall which will run every 15 minutes.
