Leicester Tigers scrum coach Dan Palmer has resigned from his role at the club following the departure of head coach Dan McKellar.

Palmer joined the Premiership side last October after working with Australia at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

A club statement said Palmer tendered his resignation after McKellar left and was “unable to fully commit to the role ahead of the new season”.

McKellar left Leicester by mutual consent last week after one season in the role.

Head academy forwards coach Neil Fowkes will take on the role of scrum coach on an interim basis, with pre-season for the 2024-25 campaign starting on Monday 1 July.

Leicester said an announcement would be made regarding the appointment of a new head coach before the players return to training next week.
