Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the latest transfer as Antonio Conte sends a clear message to Liverpool

Antonio Conte has ruled out a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite the Napoli star appearing to want a move this summer.

Kvaratskhelia played on the final night of the Euro 2024 group stage as Georgia shocked Portugal to book their place in the knockout stages. The forward scored the first goal just two minutes into the 2-0 victory as his nation secured passage to their first outing at the tournament.

No doubt there will have been plenty of interested clubs watching to see Kvaratskhelia in action, including Liverpool. According to TBR Football, Liverpool have “enquired” about the 23-year-old, with Arne Slot seemingly keen to sign a new winger.

His agent and father have both stated their desire to secure a move this summer, although those comments were taken lightly by Napoli. Now the Italian club’s new manager has dismissed suggestions that Kvaratskhelia could leave in the coming weeks.

“The frustration of last year led to unclear situations,” Conte told a press conference (via football.london). “But the players know that difficulties can arise, we have to roll up our sleeves with respect and confidence.

“I knew the situations of all the players very well, I vetoed Kvara, Di Lorenzo, Lobotka, Anguissa.”
