Enfield volunteers receive ‘lifetime achievement’ awards.

The success and achievements of 25 dedicated local volunteers were celebrated at Enfield Civic Centre

The achievements of 25 Enfield volunteers were recognized at a special awards ceremony.

Certificates and medals were presented to the volunteers to celebrate the effort and commitment they have shown over many years.

The Enfield Volunteer Achievement and Special Recognition Awards ceremony was held at the end of last month in the council chamber at Enfield Civic Centre.

The awards recognize volunteers who go above and beyond their volunteering role, who may have taken one or more special initiatives to help others and those who have shown exceptionally long service to Enfield.

The two categories included the Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of an individual’s long-term commitment to volunteering, to celebrate their effort and dedication over a number of years; and the Special Recognition Award for individual volunteers who have provided exceptional service to others, particularly in the past year.

Gina Needs, Cabinet Member for Safety and Community Cohesion, said: “I’d like to thank all the fantastic volunteers we met and presented awards to. It was an honor to meet such dedicated people from Enfield. Award winners have gone above and beyond and continue to make a real difference to residents’ lives.

“I would encourage anyone interested in volunteering to find out more about the current opportunities available in Enfield so that we can work together to help those most in need and make the borough a better place to live.”

The annual Volunteer Awards Program was launched in December 2021 to recognize and celebrate volunteer effort and commitment.

The winners were chosen from nominations made by residents, voluntary organizations and community groups.

Enfield Voluntary Action works closely with the council to help people and community groups access the knowledge, skills and resources to make a real impact in the borough.
