VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Teddy Blueger to a two-year contract

The contract, announced by the team on Wednesday, has an average annual value of $1.8 million.

The 29-year-old was set to become an unrestricted free agent when the NHL’s free agency period began on Monday.

He signed a one-year, $1.9 million contract with the Canucks last July after winning a Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward from Riga, Latvia also spent parts of six seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins and has 41 goals and 85 assists in 336 NHL games.
