Join us and the aspiring MPs from Leicester East to discuss crime, immigration, housing, the NHS and the economy

Next week, six candidates fighting for your vote in Leicester East will join us to debate politics and tell you why they deserve your vote. In a week, the city and county will have a new set of lawmakers.

In Leicester East, the vote will be tight, with 10 candidates vying for your support. Six parties, as well as four independents, are chasing the seat – and this election could result in a new MP, the first non-Labour victory in more than three decades, or potentially both.

We invited candidates from the country’s four main parties, as well as the last two MPs who held the seat and are now fighting to win it once again, to debate the NHS, crime, immigration, housing and the economy.

You can also join us by logging in via the LeicestershireLive Facebook page at 6pm, where we’ll be live streaming the event as it happens. We know you’ll also have questions for those hoping to back you when the country goes to the polls next Thursday, July 4.

Share them in the comments below and tell us which candidate you want them on. See you Monday!

Also running for the seat are three other independent candidates Malihah Adam, Nags Agath and Khandu Patel and Raj Solanki for Reform UK. We’ve given all candidates a chance to explain why they think they deserve your vote.
