Discount keeps play-off hopes alive – latest news

FRIDAY’S WRAP: Sale Sharks kept their Premiership play-off hopes alive with a 31-22 bonus point win over Leicester Tigers on Friday.

Gus Warr, Tommy Taylor and Sam James helped Sale into a 21-15 half-time lead.

Wing Tom O’Flaherty added a fourth try after the break for the bonus point.

The Tigers kept within reach with tries from Dan Cole and Matt Scott and George Martin scored the third try after the break.

*Bath are now level with Northampton Saints in the Premiership after a comfortable 28-17 bonus point win over Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park.

Bath secured victory in the first half with Thomas du Toit, Ben Spencer, Joe Cokanasiga and Matt Gallagher all adding to the spoils.

Newcastle remain without a league win since March 2023 as they remain bottom of the table.

Bath’s discipline gave Newcastle hope of a comeback as the latter stages were littered with penalties but they held on for victory.
