‘Scared the pants off Man Utd’ – Coventry City punt made ’24/25′ Championship fixtures released

Coventry City will head to Stoke for the opening game of the ’24/’25 Championship season – and fans have given us their early predictions for the campaign ahead in the comments section. The Championship fixture list was revealed yesterday (June 26), with Oxford United, Bristol City and Norwich City making up the rest of the Sky Blues’ August opponents.

Coventry will have their sights set on promotion again this season after falling agonizingly short in the play-offs against Luton two seasons ago. The club’s run in the FA Cup last season is also cause for optimism, after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and giving Manchester United the fright of their lives in an epic semi-final clash.

Goalscorer reader is bullish on their chances: “This is our year! 26,000+ in every home match. 95% of all away games are sold out. SBA as always the 12th man will give us the Promotion. COYSB”.

Mercianfm’s commentary reads: “Automatic promotion is highly unlikely for the Sky Blues. The championship gets stronger every year. Top ten probably, top eight possible. I’ll feel more confident if the club hang on to Sheaf, which remains uncertain.”

Hadji believes moves elsewhere will help Coventry: “This is a much weaker division than last season. Leeds will be weaker and will lose their danger man (Summerville). In addition, several of the first 11 were loans, such as Rodon. If they didn’t get it automatically. last year, they got a tougher task this time around.”

“Hull also without their on-loan striker who hit the net. A few of the others like Norwich and West Brom have to sell now as their Premier League money is gone. Last season was their last big chance. We should aim for the slot, not playoffs 2 more signings (goalie and CDM) and I’ll feel confident we can do it.
