Two-car crash blocks main road and causes delays at Ponsanooth

Several emergency services were called to the scene of the two-car accident. The A393 was blocked at Ponsanooth following the accident.

An eyewitness said several emergency services were in attendance. They added: “Two car collision, police and ambulance in attendance. Junction of Tubbon Hill, Stithians and Perranwell. Road now closed from Ponsanooth”.




Road and traffic monitoring website Inrix first reported the accident at 11.11am. It reads: “A393 St Michaels Road in both directions partially blocked due to crash, two cars involved near Stithians stop.”

Cornwall Fire and Rescue confirmed two fire engines were sent to the scene. A statement from the force said: “Appliances from Falmouth and Tolvaddon attended this incident.

“Two vehicles were involved in this incident, no one was caught. The crew made the vehicles and the area safe and then handed over to the police.”
