Jamie Vardy’s message as Steve Cooper tells two Leicester City players they aren’t ‘good enough’

Steve Cooper has received some Leicester City transfer advice from former Foxes striker Alan Smith.

Cooper is busy working on transfers after taking charge at the King Power Stadium last week. Speaking about his squad and new signings in an interview with the club, he said: “We already have a lot of talent, a lot of character, a lot of good attributes in the squad.

“With the right additions that the club are working together to try and bring in, we will give ourselves the best chance of achieving the goals we set for next season.”

A new striker is likely to be high on Cooper’s wish list following the departure of Kelechi Iheanacho at the end of his contract this summer. He currently has Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Tom Cannon at his disposal in the striker department.

Smith also believes Cooper needs to look at the heart of his defense as they prepare for a return to the Premier League. “Leicester need to add some players to the squad who are Premier League quality,” he told Prime Casino.

“At the back, when you look at Vestergaard and Wout Faes, you don’t see that as a double act that will be good enough in the Premier League.
