The breeders live in Manchester

The UK Breeders Tour was in Manchester on 26th June.

The Breeders opened their European tour in Leeds earlier this week and were at London’s Troxy before playing the Albert Hall last night.

There are further UK gigs in Nottingham and Bristol before the band move to mainland Europe next month as their regular tour since last year’s ‘Original Analogue Edition’ 30th anniversary reissue of Last Splash.

One of the highlights of the re-release was an unreleased version of Divine Hammer featuring Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis on vocals – which Kelley Deal told Uncut was a highlight:

At the time, J Mascis was a guitar god… we sent him the tape to put the guitar on, so when he came back and got rid of our vocals and put his vocals on, we were like, “What? !” But it’s really cute. It has a freshness and it’s so weird. I love his voice and the idiosyncratic way he sings and delivers lines. So I thought that was very neat.
