10cc aren’t the only big names coming to Leicester, with astronaut Tim Peake presenting his “highly anticipated” new show, Astronauts: The Quest to Explore Space. Tim’s appearance on Thursday 12 September will see Tim deliver a fascinating story about the ‘inspiring’ adventures of astronauts and how they are true pioneers. It will be supported by archival footage and footage to immerse people in the story of space exploration.

Comedy and music also make up the De Montfort Hall bill, with top comic Ed Byrne performing there next Wednesday (July 3). The Mock the Week star’s ‘Tragedy Plus Time’ will see him laugh off ‘the most tragic event of his life’. This is then followed by Motown by Moonlight on Thursday, August 15. The show, which is hosted with Capitol Motown and the Soul Band, will see the “perfect combination” of soul music and Motown with top singing talents. A wide range of timeless songs are on the bill, including from Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin.

As we head into autumn, De Montfort Hall will get into the Strictly spirit with a host of former stars from the BBC show on Tuesday 1 October. ‘Legends of the Dance Floor’ will see Strictly Come Dancing legends Brendan Cole, James Jordan, Pasha Kovalev, Vincent Simone and Ian Waite all perform in a ‘spectacular’ new show celebrating the Latin and ballroom worlds.

In October, the legend that is Jane McDonald will be coming to Leicester on Friday 18th October. The singing star’s ‘With All My Love’ tour will see the beloved performer perform a number of well-known songs as well as new material written by Jane. se.
