Two dead in West Vancouver crash, Highway 1 reopens

One westbound lane has reopened on Highway 1 after a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday night left two people dead in West Vancouver.

The crash shut down all traffic on the highway in the direction of Horseshoe Bay and Sea to Sky west of Exit 4 near Caulfeild Drive.

But around 9 a.m. Thursday, West Vancouver police said one westbound lane had reopened on Highway 1 as the final stages of cleanup were completed and that the second lane would open soon.

As the closure prevented staff from getting to work, ferry traffic in Horseshoe Bay was severely delayed.

Two people have died in a head-on collision on Highway 1 in West Vancouver, according to West Vancouver police.
