Chelsea have contacted Leicester City for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Chelsea have contacted Leicester City over a move for midfielder Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, according to The Athletic. The Blues have expressed an interest in his services but have not submitted an official offer.

Chelsea want another midfielder and have set their sights on the 25-year-old, who has impressed in the Championship with 12 goals and 14 assists (20 big chances created) in 44 league appearances.

Dewsbury-Hall is also open to leaving his boyhood club for Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will likely have to pay a significant fee for the Nottingham-born midfielder as his contract runs until 2027.

However, the London club have shown they are ready to pay obscene amounts of money for players they like.

Chelsea believe Dewsbury-Hall is the perfect tactical fit for head coach Enzo Maresca, who has worked with the midfielder over the past year.

The Leicester City players’ player of the season can fit in as eight in Maresca’s 4-3-3 formation alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea fans will be wondering what implications Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival could have on Conor Gallagher’s future.

The west Londoners have been trying to sell the 24-year-old England international for some time to balance their books, and signing Dewsbury-Hall could speed up his exit from the club.

Chelsea have wasted no time getting down to business this summer, although they have failed to plug any real first-team goals.

Chelsea have reportedly completed a deal to sign Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19million. The transfer received plenty of attention with the England youth international an unknown quantity before his move.

Estevao Willian has also joined Chelsea’s seemingly endless search for young talent. Tosin Adarabioyo has moved to Chelsea after leaving Fulham.

The Blues are close to signing Barcelona teenage striker Marc Guiu while simultaneously trying to complete a deal for Boca Juniors man Aaron Anselmino.

Chelsea’s search for a striker to provide competition for Nicolas Jackson is ongoing, with several disappointing options linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the west Londoners still have holes to fill at left-back, left-back and goalkeeper.
