Ey Up World – Leeds Bradford Airport launches first major campaign

Leeds Bradford Airport has launched its first online campaign in partnership with Ponderosa.

Ey Up World was designed to raise awareness of over 80 travel destinations.

The Leeds-based agency developed the campaign to reach multiple audience profiles, including family, groups and quick getaways, using the words ‘scorchio’, ‘bucketlisting’ and ‘out of office’.

“Insight suggests that while there are more than 4 million travelers from Yorkshire using LBA, many choose alternative airports because they are unaware of the range of destinations LBA offers,” said Ponderosa CEO Richard Midgley.

‘Ey up World’ allowed us to have a bit of fun, bring destinations to life and create a sense of ease and freedom to travel from the comfort of Yorkshire Airport.

“It was a pleasure working with the team at LBA on its first out-of-home awareness campaign and we look forward to seeing the campaign roll out throughout the summer.”

It was broadcast on several out-of-home channels, including digital sheets 6 and 48, parts of the bus, radio and a static advert at Leeds Tower. This is supported by YouTube and programmatic advertising, social media and travel agent activations.

“Ponderosa understood our brand, our target audience and approached the insight head-on, coming up with some brilliant ideas for our first cross-line awareness campaign,” added John Cunliffe, Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer at LBA.

“Through the ‘Ey up World’ campaign, the series of ads bring remarkable color and vibrancy to ensure more people become aware of the range of worldwide destinations we offer right from the heart of Yorkshire at Leeds Bradford Airport.”
