River-Cade announces the Stockons as this year’s grand marshals

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Rivercade’s annual parade takes place next month and has announced this year’s honoree grand marshals.

The parade on Wednesday July 17th will be led by Brent and Paula Stockton.

It is a time and a true tradition for many people in Siouxland.

The Stocktons are honored with this role after bringing together a community of “creatives” through Vangarde Arts and Alley Art Fest.

They said it was an honor to pave the way for the parade.

“I remember years ago when I was a kid watching the parade and taking our kids to the parade, now anyway, our default, all that was going on in Washington was praying and seeing the Parade Marshal, so to we imagine that we are people who were riding in the car below. the parade is kind of an honor,” said Brent Stockton. His wife Paula added: “It’s surreal.”

The 61st Annual River-Cade Parade will begin its route at 6:30pm at 3rd and Court, traveling down 3rd Street to Pierce Street, then down Pierce Street to the Long Lines Rec Center parking lot.

The finals of the Dairy Queen Ice Cream Social and Smile Contest will be held at the Long Lines Rec Center after the parade.
