Major Wilfred Ndidi’s news on Leicester City’s points deduction is expected in a few days

There has been a potentially huge twist in the situation of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Will the Nigerian international stay at the King Power Stadium? Elsewhere, a prediction that an update on profit and sustainability rules is expected within days is expected. Will the Foxes start the 2024/25 Premier League campaign with minus points?

While everyone is enjoying the sunshine and some pretty exciting competition at Euro 2024 – except for the England supporters, Leicester City are preparing to let someone important leave the club. That significant player may be Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, if reports are correct. Let’s hope not, eh, Blue Army!?

In the meantime, there will be signs keeping an eye on Filbert Way. As is usual in the offseason, especially with a new boss, there are numerous candidates being discussed at LCFC.

The East Midlands are said to have been following Joe Rodon for some time; the Tottenham Hotspur defender is not wanted in north London. As a result, Leicester manager Steve Cooper, who has a positive relationship and history with the centre-back, has reportedly green-lit a move.

There is also a rather pressing contract to renew; Wilfred Ndidi is no longer in tune at King Power. The Nigerian is a fan favourite, a likable guy and a great player to the general standard he has been used to. It wouldn’t be a disaster for the Foxes if he left; going for free is harder to accept, of course.

However, keeping Ndidi is preferable in this writer and Leicester fan’s opinion. Last year, despite playing in the Championship, the 27-year-old showed that he can develop as a first-class footballer. Under Enzo Maresca, he was even more influential.

There have been reports of interest in Ndidi from many clubs in Turkey, along with top English club Everton. Not to mention a very recent claim that he would be leaving LCFC this summer. Although, there is now a possible turnaround regarding the former Genk man’s immediate career path:

“It was claimed on Wednesday that Everton were close to signing Ndidi after accepting a bid from the Merseyside club, but allnigeriasoccer.con can confirm 100 percent that there is no truth to the report that he is heading to Goodison Park.”

Sticking with the Toffees briefly (sorry for the amazing pun), their former chief executive Keith Wyness has made a statement about Leicester City Football Club’s Financial Fair Play issues. The 66-year-old says the Foxes could in the end learn their fate in a few days.

Although the hearing has been delayed – possibly due to a countersuit from the reinstated EPL team – they will face a points penalty, Wyness insists. “No doubt” is the exact quote regarding a punishment.
