Leeds 10k 2024 road closures

Leeds 10k will have a number of road closures to help the event run smoothly.

Taking place on Sunday 23rd June, the event will feature a host of fun runners, fundraisers and club runners. Starting at 9am outside the Parkinson Steps at the University of Leeds, those taking part will be able to enjoy the sights of the city as they make their way along the 10km route.

The route passes through Headingley and then into Meanwood before returning past the First Direct Arena and finishing outside Leeds Art Gallery on The Headrow. There will be a number of road closures in Leeds city center to help the event run smoothly.

Leeds 10k 2024 will require road and junction closures as well as the suspension of a number of traffic control orders between 6pm on Saturday 22nd June and 3pm on Sunday 23rd June.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All said: “As with many major running events, some roads are closed to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused. All closures will be lifted as soon as possible.”

Road closures will start around the start and finish on The Headrow, Cookridge Street, Calverley Street, Great George Street, Blenheim Terrace, Cavendish Road and Woodhouse Lane from 4am on Sunday 23 June.

The start closures around Blenheim Terrace will reopen by midday, while the closures around the finish, including Headrow, will reopen at 3pm on Sunday 23 June.

All other road closures on the route will be implemented for 8:00am. These will include closures in Woodhouse Lane, Clarendon Road, Moorland Road, Hyde Park Road, Rampart Road, Woodhouse Street, Headingley Lane, Otley Road, Shaw Lane, Grove Lane, Monk Bridge Road, Grove Road, Meanwood Road, Oatland Road, Oatland Lane, Lovell Park Road, Wade Lane, Merrion Street and Albion Street. These roads will reopen on an ongoing basis, with the final closure lifted for 11.45am.
