“I’m supposed to be flying to Turkey, but now I’m driving to Cornwall!” A woman hit by the mass cancellations of EasyJet flights tells of her struggle

EasyJet has canceled a number of flights at short notice, leaving families’ holiday plans in disarray.

Passengers flying the budget airline reported being sent back home as flights were disrupted, sending their travel plans into disarray and others stranded abroad.

Tourists complained about the lack of information available, while others reported being stuck for hours on planes that never even left the ground.

The airline said ATC restrictions caused by bad weather had led to disruptions to its network.

A passenger named Kate complained she was stuck at Bristol Airport for seven hours, leaving her Turkish holiday “down the drain” after she was forced to swap the sun in Dalaman for a car in Cornwall.

She told MailOnline that passengers boarded the aircraft where they waited an hour on the tarmac before being told their flight had been cancelled.

EasyJet said it was doing “everything possible” to minimize the impact of the disruption on passengers, which it said was due to air traffic control restrictions.
