Pickett will host the 23rd annual Bradford County Senior Expo on July 26

TOWANDA – Longtime Pennsylvania State Representative Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) invites area seniors and their families to the 23rd annual Bradford County Senior Expo on Friday, July 26, from 10: 00 to 13:00 at Lynch-Bustin Elementary School in Athens.

“My staff and I are excited to host this popular event each year and visit with the hundreds of seniors who participate,” Pickett said. “Our expo provides a unique opportunity to learn about the wide variety of programs and services available to older residents in our area.”

Dozens of exhibitors will be on hand to provide information on health care, insurance, nutrition and exercise, financial planning, fraud protection, government services, veterans benefits and more.

As part of the exhibit, Pickett will hold a town hall meeting in the school cafeteria at 11:30 a.m.

A free paper shredding service will be available from 10 a.m. to noon, courtesy of North Central Sight Services (two-box limit). The chipper truck will be located in the parking lot. Residents only, no businesses please.

Participants can also safely dispose of expired prescription drugs at the drop box provided by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.

The air-conditioned school is located at 253 Pennsylvania Ave. from Athens. Participants should take the second business exit from Athens on US 220 to Pine Street. A shuttle service will be available at the front door of the building.

Anyone with questions about the exhibit should contact Pickett’s district office in Sayre at 570-888-9011.

Her district offices in Sayre and Towanda will be closed on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26 so staff can prepare for and attend the event. Pickett’s Tunkhannock district office will also be closed Friday, July 26.
