Watch the first trailer for Mo Gilligan’s new film 10 Lives

we exclusive the first trailer for Sky’s new original film 10 Lives, which marks Mo Gilligan’s debut film role.

The animation sees Gilligan’s voice-spoiled cat Beckett living a life of luxury after being rescued by a kind-hearted college student, Rose. That is until Beckett carelessly loses his new life and finds himself in the reincarnation department.

Despite being a “recidivist” and “possible sociopathic”, Beckett is enrolled in a new program that sees him with nine new lives, but as nine different animals, including a fish, a dog and a parrot.

Could his new lease on life transform Beckett from a self-absorbed pet to a self-sacrificing hero? You can find out when 10 Lives premieres on Sky Cinema Friday, April 5.

10 Lives also stars Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley as Beckett’s owner Rose, Zayn Malik as a pair of scoundrels, Bill Nighy as villain Professor Craven and Big Boys star Dylan Llewellyn as to Rose’s ex, Larry.

The film also features new tracks from Zayn Malik, including a duet with Simone Ashley. Speaking to Variety earlier this year, director Chris Jenkins admitted he was initially “terrified” to play Malik, but quickly realized he didn’t have to be.

“Sometimes people come with an entourage and you can barely find the real person underneath, which is what I love to do. Zayn was the exact opposite. We bonded immediately,” he boasted.

“I knew what I had to do was have fun, like two guys having a real laugh, and then I’d push it for more thrills. But he is very funny. They play those guys with the pathos that I really wanted, which is they act like bad guys, but they’re not really bad.”

10 Lives premiered earlier this year at Sundance and is sitting at a decent 80% after early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

It joins an impressive number of original Sky films this year, including Ferrari, which is available to watch now, and The Beekeeper, which arrives on Friday (March 8).

10 Lives will be released on Sky Cinema on April 5.
