Chairman ‘obsessed’ with Manchester United’s £40million ace who is his ‘dream’ signing.

Hardly a day goes by these days without a twist in this particular Manchester United transfer saga.

Things were looking a little worrying for the Red Devils on Wednesday.

Rumors linking Mason Greenwood with a move to Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund or Barcelona – whose interest appeared to be confirmed by the Getafe president during the striker’s La Liga loan spell – have died down.

There was little movement in that proposed move from Juventus. Lazio, meanwhile, failed with a £20m bid and then appeared to turn their attention to Tijjani Noslin, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Lazio are now likely to sign Noslin. Another one from the right. Hellas Verona’s flying Dutchman, if these reports are to be believed, has also been on Manchester United’s wishlist.

But after Wednesday’s drop came Thursday’s rise. This rollercoaster of a saga is accelerating again.

Manchester United hope to sell Mason Greenwood

Athletic’s David Ornstein delivered some very welcome news this morning when he said Marseille have opened talks with £40million-rated Greenwood. Early discussions are also understood to have been “positive”.

The former England international is believed to be keen on a move to Marseille, who are set to hire Roberto de Zerbi as their new head coach.

And even if the aforementioned Noślin ends up at Lazio, that doesn’t mean the Biancocelesti can be ruled out.

To quote Sport Mediaset, the Italian publication providing an update on Greenwood’s situation at Lazio, the Serie A club’s president Claudio Lotito “really likes” the Carrington graduate.

Lazio were also keen in 2023 before Getafe gave Greenwood the fresh start he wanted.

Twelve months on, the Bradford-born striker remains an “obsession” for Lotito. So much so that, according to Corriere dello Sport, the likely arrival of another Noslin midfielder will not end the capital club’s pursuit of their president’s “dream” signing.

Lazio legend Bruno Giordano shares Lotito’s enthusiasm for Greenwood. He was concerned that Lazio had shifted their focus away from Greenwood and towards Noslin, and Giordano will now be pleased to learn that is not the case.

“Noslin can be a good solution,” says Giordano on Radio Sei. “Hopefully this signing doesn’t rule out one of Greenwood.”

Lazio remains a possibility for the former Getafe loanee

Tuttomercatoweb claim that Man United discussed a deal for Noslin with Hellas Verona on Tuesday. The Red Devils have reportedly gone as far as putting £17m on the table. But Noslin prefers to stay in Italy after just six months in the country and will instead follow his former Hellas coach Marco Baroni to the Stadio Olimpico.

“The Dutch striker is a request from Baroni. It’s important for the coach to have as many choices as possible,” adds Giordano.

“Noslin is very well structured, a good prospect. He scored important and quality goals and often gives the impression that he can change during the match.

“Last season, he did well with Verona.”

Man United now rule over another Serie A striker on the right; Dan Ndoye from Bologna, by Gianluca di Marzio.
